An Amigo is expected to provide, pleasant, courteous and engaging online video conversation when a client books them.
The main requirements to be an Amigo are that you submit a copy of your successfully obtained Criminal Records Check, and be screened by our online support team for language capability.

If you are accepted to move on the the next step, we will book a video meeting with you to review your application. If not we will let you know by email.

We ask that Amigos be 19 years of ago or older.
No. Currently, Amigo sessions are provided only in English, so adequate proficiency in English will be expected and tested in conversation as part of the screening process.

Before you fill out the online application, you need to acquire a criminal records check (for working with elderly and at-risk individuals) from our preferred provider Commissionaires.
Once you have the required criminal records check, you may then fill out the application above.
Part of that application is a social interest questionnaire to help match you with clients.
Once these forms have been received, our online support team will schedule a brief online interview for security purposes and to ensure adequate language proficiency.
You will also be given a “best practices for an Amigo” document and online Terms, Conditions, and Privacy Agreement you will need to sign off on.
Once all these are completed, your online profile will be made active at which point you may enter your availability.
Your profile will be made visible and accessible for clients to book sessions according to your availability schedule.
An Amigo is expected to provide, pleasant, courteous and engaging conversation with a client that selects them to have an online session which will last 45-60 minutes each.
In order to be registered as a You & Amigo practitioner on Jane.com, the platform that houses You & Amigo, Amigos are expected to accept and engage in at least 5-10 sessions per month. If engagement falls below that level, our support team will contact you top assess ongoing availability and viability as an Amigo.
Amigos can choose their own schedule and availability, provided they are available for booking at least 10 one-hour sessions per month.
You will be required to have your own tablet, smartphone or computer for scheduling and engaging in online sessions with clients.
You will be encouraged but not required to download the “Jane” app which will facilitate your access.
Internet access is all that is required. You can access the service and your schedule from the You & Amigo web site (youandamigo.ca) or the downloaded Jane app.
For each 45-60 minute session that clients book and complete with you, you will be paid $20.
All Amigos are contract positions with no employment contracts, benefits, guarantees or arrangements.
Your earnings will be based on the number of sessions you are selected for and which you complete, at $20 per session.
An e-transfer will be made from You & Amigo to the email address you entered in your registration profile on the Friday following each successfully completed online paid session.
Our support team will give you access to a Best Practice document created by us to ensure you have satisfying, safe and genial online sessions with paying clients.
